Went to class, did some homework, same old, same old.
Around
7 PM I decided to attend a cabinet meeting for VSA because I’m interested in
interning for them (I am irrationally obsessed with this club, and I don’t know
why.) At the cabinet meeting, the members who hold positions (president, VPs,
secretary, etc.) went over future events and things like that. It was actually
pretty interesting to me because they planned in a way similar to what Vinna
and I did when we planned parties. At the beginning, there was a check-in
question which was,
“Why are you in VSA? What are 3 goals you have for this
year?”
Of course I knew why I was in VSA—to learn more about the culture I had pushed to the side for so long, and meet more Vietnamese people. However, I didn’t know what my three goals were right away. I came up with:
1) Learn Vietnamese
2) Get a 4.0
3) Help make Culture Show the best it can be (I kind of have to, being the scriptwriter and assistant director)
Two out of three of my goals are Vietnamese-related, and I think that’s completely fine. For me, college is a place where I can not only pursue my future, but explore my past as well.
XOXO
