We rode the bus, and on the way there, I felt a little
nauseous. I was terrified that things would end up like it did on the Half-Moon
Bay trip, but I was all right after I got some food in me (I don’t know how
that works.) Needless to say, I will definitely be paranoid any time I’m in a bus or car from now on.
We ate the most amazing clam chowder bread bowl at a place
called Boudin Bakery (or was it Bistro?) in downtown SF. Then we headed to the
Asian Art Museum, where Vickie had to do a class assignment. I’m pretty sure
this is the first time I’ve been in an art museum, and I have to say, a lot of
the pieces were impressive. (All the Buddha statues reminded me of the Buddha
head back home XD)
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stay to shop around Union
Square because there was a VSA family event for Tet Trung Thu. (Why didn’t we
ever celebrate this at home? D:) Anh, Lina, and I went to the Polar Bear Family
event, which had spring rolls. Then we met up with the other two families to
light these cute lanterns and walk to Haas Pavilion where we told folktales.
The lanterns didn’t last long, but when they were lit, they were very
enchanting. I’m sure the other Cabinet members were hoping things would’ve gone
better, but the fact that we could gather together like that was nice enough
for me.
