Day 12: Yay VSA!

I started writing this last night, but then I forgot to post. Whoopsie!

---

VSA (Vietnamese Student Association) was definitely the highlight of my day (and currently the only thing I can remember right now since I just came back). I ate dinner with a few of the floormates, which was great. There was some time to spare, so the plan was to go back to Unit 1 so Anh could take a quick shower, and then the three of us (Anh, Lina, and I) would go to the VSA meeting at 7:15. Yeah. That didn't happen.

We ended up coming about forty-five minutes late to the meeting and barely making the last portion of the meeting: the name game. Then the members invited everyone out to karaoke, which we originally weren't going to go to because of homework. But that didn't happen, either, and I'm glad it didn't.

I thought it would be difficult to talk to people as it is whenever I do something for the first time, but everyone was incredibly friendly. (Also, it helped that Anh and Lina are more socially-capable than I am.) This was also the first time I rode the bus here, and the first time I've been to a real karaoke place. It must have looked like I wasn't having a good time because Jamesuel (the president of VSA) later apologized if I didn't have fun. Honestly, I was thoroughly enjoying myself just watching everyone goof around and sing so loud that you couldn't tell who had the mic. Next time, though, I'll be sure to memorize some Korean songs because I wanted to karaoke to K-Pop so badly XD

tl;dr I met a lot of cool people at VSA whose names I will hopefully remember the next time I see them :)

P.S. For the third time since I came here, I've been told that I don't look Vietnamese, twice by Vietnamese people /: I've never had much to compare to other than family, but still. WHY IS THAT? WHAT AM I?

XOXO
Gabby
