Days 100-101: The Weekend

Day 100: Night In

I could’ve gone out again to a party today, but I was way too tired, so I spent the day studying. Aaron came over to Unit 1 and we studied together a bit before getting dinner with Jane and Fujie. It was raining outside, so we decided to watch Thor on Netflix (I use Netflix so much, mommy XD). Afterwards, Aaron went home and I studied some more. Bleeeh studying >_<

Day 101: Preparation

End-of-Semester Banquet is tomorrow, so I mostly spent the day with Jenny and Linh baking cookies and making goodie bags for the guests. I think we baked 120+ cookies (afterwards, I didn’t want to see/eat another cookie again.)

Day 99: Clubbin'

In the morning, I woke up early and finished my essay. Piotr made me pancakes and then I walked home. When I went to print my essay, the printer in the learning center wasn’t working (of course.) I ran into one of the guys in my English class, and we ended up sprinting to the Unit 2 learning center to print our papers, then to the FPF building to turn them in. It felt good turning it in, but I knew I had another essay to do for 31AC, so I started it (that is, after a long nap).

I was a bit worried about finishing, since I drained myself with the first essay and I had planned to go to a club in SF with some VSA friends to help fundraise for a mentorship program (their tagline is  "Party with a Cause.") I borrowed one of Kayla’s dresses because I needed to wear my other dress on Monday for Banquet. Jane wanted to take a picture, but I ran off before she could lol

I went to the club with Diana D., Diana T., Richard, and Jamesuel. At first, because 1) I was kind of nervous because I didn’t know that many people there and 2) Diana D. had gotten me onto the later bus with all the juniors and seniors so I could be with them. They all promised to keep me safe, and they certainly did. Every time a guy tried to creep on me, they would move me around or block him.

I did try one drink, and to be honest, the alcohol made the aftertaste kind of gross. You guys can rest easy knowing that I probably won’t be doing much drinking in college (not that that wasn’t already obvious.) Overall, I had a good time, even though the music wasn’t exactly top-notch—what made it fun was definitely being there with my friends.

Day 98: SSSSP and MAMAs

Today, Jennifer and I stayed over at JPR’s for scriptwriting meeting and to watch the MAMAs (Mnet Asian Music Awards). (Yes mom, I slept over a boy’s apartment and it was fine.)

We’d been joking about having a slumber party with the scriptwriting team (a.k.a. a Secret Scriptwriting Society Slumber Party, or SSSSP), but I didn’t think we’d actually do it. I have an essay due on Friday 2-4PM, so I worked a bit on that before the video streamed at 2AM. Jennifer and I mostly wanted to watch Big Bang, but they were obviously showing last, and we gave up around 4AM and knocked out. Hanging out with Jason and Jennifer is always a good time :)

Day 97: Cabinet Elections

I went to Cabinet Elections today to run for Publications Chair spring semester. I ran against my friend Jennifer Nguyen, and to my surprise, I actually won. (But Jennifer got Publicity, so yay!) There are a lot of positions that are still open, unfortunately. Also, next year’s Cabinet will be full of estrogen. The only guys so far are Jason and Phu.

Afterwards, we all went to Late Night and had a party (but not really.)

Day 96: Locked Out

Today I went to class, back to the room, and then left to table for VSA. As I was halfway down the stairs, I realized that there was no key in my back pocket. I shrugged it off because I have two roommates and it shouldn’t have been THAT hard to get back into the room without using a temporary key. Unfortunately, Kayla would be gone for a good part of the day, and it didn’t seem like Jane was going to get back soon. So, I braced myself for another hard day.

Only, it wasn’t that bad. I went to my Psych professor’s office hours and managed to scrounge three extra points on my test (not that it really raised it that much…but it might count in the end, who knows?) Then I went with Richard to his apartment (JPR’s) to study since I happened to pack everything I needed in my backpack before I left. Oddly enough, when Jason came home to the apartment, Jennifer and AndrĂ© were with him. After they fed me chicken noodle soup, Jennifer and AndrĂ© walked me to English.

I returned to Cheney in hopes that Kayla was in the room. I was lucky enough to get in without a key, but not lucky enough to avoid an awkward encounter with the guy I liked, who was going to dinner. Kayla wasn’t in the room, but Shannon happened to be going to dinner, so I decided to join her. We ran into a few more floor mates on the way there, and we stayed for a good hour. When we returned, there was a mob in front of the elevator, and it’s not hard to guess who was also there, again. (It was so strange. This NEVER happened.) So we squished around 15 people in the elevator and got off on the 6th floor.

Kayla was back so I was able to get my key, and then I went to the Student Learning Center to study with a bunch of VSA members. It was kind of loud in the SLC so I went back to JPR’s with Piotr and studied some more. (Also…I decided to go to a club on Friday. We’ll see how that turns out.)
